Meet Dr. Kurt Adams

Sports Medicine, Chiropractic & Three Decades of Experience

Dr. Kurt Adams has spent his career combining his background in sports medicine with chiropractic care to help patients recover from injuries, improve function, and remain active.
Before attending chiropractic college, Dr. Adams earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports Science from Colorado State University, with a concentration in Sports Medicine. He went on to attend Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, graduating in 1996 in the top 10 percent of his class.

Dr. Adams is certified by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners and is board certified in physiotherapy. He has practiced chiropractic in Alaska for approximately 30 years, bringing extensive experience in the evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries.

A Focus on Sports & Musculoskeletal Injuries

Sports and physical activity have been a significant part of Dr. Adams' life both personally and professionally.
His education in exercise science and sports medicine provides an important foundation for his work with athletes and active individuals. Throughout his career, he has developed a particular interest in injuries involving the spine, shoulders, arms, hips, and legs, as well as helping patients safely return to the activities that are important to them.

Dr. Adams also understands injury from a patient's perspective. While playing rugby, he experienced a cervical disc herniation himself. That experience, combined with his clinical education, has given him an appreciation for both the physical challenges of an injury and the process of working toward recovery.

Throughout his life, Dr. Adams has participated competitively in football, rugby, wrestling, track, and bodybuilding. That athletic background continues to influence his practical approach to caring for athletes, active adults, and patients recovering from musculoskeletal injuries.

Advanced Training in Motor Vehicle Injuries

Another significant area of Dr. Adams' clinical experience is caring for patients following motor vehicle collisions.
He holds an Advanced Certification in Whiplash Traumatology from the Spine Research Institute of San Diego and has completed additional education focused on the evaluation and management of injuries associated with motor vehicle trauma.

This advanced training complements his background in sports medicine and physiotherapy, allowing him to consider the different factors that can influence recovery following a collision. His approach emphasizes careful evaluation, appropriate treatment, and helping patients restore mobility and function following an injury.
