Front Desk Coordinator Wendy Somsen Wendy Somsen is the Front Desk Coordinator for Bilan Chiropractic. She was born and raised in Sandy, Utah. She moved to Anchorage in August of 2005 looking for a little adventure. Wendy loves all the outdoor activities that Alaska has to offer. She has many interests including traveling, snowboarding, and playing soccer.
Wendy is very personable, competent, and loves working with and meeting new people. Her energetic and friendly demeanor gives each individual a sense of belonging at Bilan Chiropractic. Wendy enjoys helping people and is committed to ensuring each patient's comfort during their visit. Wendy's friendly enthusiasm will help you feel right at home at Bilan Chiropractic.
Business Office Consultant Christie Anderson Christie Anderson is our independent business consultant and owner of Assured Business Services. She has over ten years' insurance billing and collections experience.
In May of 2004 she graduated with an accounting degree from UAA and took her business of six years to a new level. Christie was employed with Bilan Chiropractic for over two years and ventured out to pursue her business in January of 2006.
Presently Christie is assisting our business office with providing the utmost efficiency in processing difficult insurance, personal injury and worker's compensation disputes. She is here to help you and fine tune Bilan Chiropractic's expediency in resolving all your insurance consideration/ problems. She is a wonderful and effective resource in resolving all of your concerns and making you feel comfortable in receiving the care that you need at Bilan Chiropractic.
Chiropractic Assistant Courtney Brown Courtney Brown administers the physical therapy at Bilan Chiropractic. She was raised in Pinedale, Wyoming and she moved to Anchorage over a year ago to be with her family. She is currently attending UAA part time; planning to work as a recreational therapist.
Courtney has a passion for people and loves talking to and getting to know them. Her genuine concern for the needs of her patients insures a positive and enjoyable outcome during your treatment at Bilan Chiropractic. Patients look forward to her genuine interest in helping them receive maximum benefit here at Bilan Chiropractic.
Chiropractic Technician Angie Nguyen Angie Nguyen, Chiropractic Technician for Bilan Chiropractic, moved to Anchorage with her husband in 2006, where the Texas native immediately added snowboarding and ice skating to her other passions in outdoor sports. When her husband returned from his service in Iraq, the couple discovered that while they were apart, they had both found the same passion in radiology, and were keen to pursue it as a profession! Angie and her husband hope to collaborate in their work one day. For now, they are working on another collaboration, and are expecting their first child in November!
Working at Bilan Chiropractic and studying now at UAA to become a Radiology Technologist satisfies Angie’s love of helping people achieve optimal health and her interest in biology. She enjoys working in a clinical setting like Bilan Chiropractic that provides her the opportunity to know her patients well.
Angie’s smile is contagious, and will alleviate any apprehensiveness you may have. “I love making people feel at home!” she says.
Massage Therapist Kelly O'Callaghan Kelly O'Callaghan was born and raised on the Big Island of Hawaii. After spending her childhood on a coffee and macadamia nut farm, she decided to leave the life of produce picking behind and pursue a career in massage therapy. In 1998, she concluded her training at The Hawaiian Island School of Body Therapies. Kelly's training encompassed all of the usual courses: anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and myofascial release. While Kelly primarily uses the Swedish method of massage; Lomi Lomi, Shiatsu, and Reflexology have also influenced her personal style.
Kelly started her massage practice initially in Hawaii. In May of 2000, Kelly moved to Alaska and practiced massage in day spas. In 2003, she joined the team at Bilan Chiropractic in order to delve further into the medical aspects of massage.
Kelly is very clinically astute. She has a great understanding of anatomy which allows for optimal results. She is dedicated and hard working and has established herself as one of the finest therapists in town.
Massage Therapist Judy Rae Judy Rae has extensive experiences and training in massage therapy, reflexology, and kinesiology. In addition to her holistic medical interests, she also has a special education and psychology background.
She has developed and taught programs for children with disabilities, and has taught educational seminars internationally in South Africa, Thailand, Central America, Ireland, and London. Judy Rae developed and taught programs for the Dept. of Corrections in Boston, Utah, and California.
Judy Rae's hobbies include history, writing, backpacking, camping, team leading groups on educational retreats, cooking, gardening, holistic herbal courses and learning from people who have lived exceptional lives.
Massage Therapist Felicia Kroll After graduating from Dimond High School in 2003, Felicia Kroll attended the American Institute of Clinical Massage in Post Falls, Idaho. After completing her LMT, Felicia moved back to Alaska and attended the Anchorage Career Academy. Here, she furthered her studies in Swedish Massage, Medical/Clinical Sports Massage, Myofascial Release, Reflexology and Neuromuscular Facilitation. Felicia also pursued studies in her particular interest, Anatomy and Physiology.
After graduating from The Academy, Felicia worked as a massage therapist for a chiropractic clinic in Dutch Harbor, Alaska, where she encountered some of her toughest clients, commercial fishermen featured on Deadliest Catch! In 2007, Felicia joined the Bilan Chiropractic Clinic team as a massage therapist.
In the future, Felicia plans to combine her interests in sports and sport injuries, her life-long fascination with human anatomy, and her passion for helping others achieve overall wellness by becoming a physical therapist.
Clinic Mascot Sally Sally is Dr. Bilan's great friend. She is fourteen years old, and looks forward to seeing and greeting every patient upon their arrival. Dr. Bilan believes Sally brings an additional element to soothing the discomfort patients are experiencing, as she loves unconditionally. We call it "puppy therapy".
Sally is a regular at Bilan Chiropractic. Whether she is taking a snooze, searching for bones, or greeting visitors to the clinic, meeting Sally will brighten your day.
