Born and raised on a ranch near Big Spring Texas, Dr. McKinnon was taught to care for her pets, and was encouraged to explore the outdoors to develop her appreciation for nature and respect for all living things. Although, Dr. Annie helped feed the horses, nursed potbelly pigs, and assisted her dad with administering medicine to their horses, her interest in health care began after her mother suffered from migraines and back pain.
Searching for relief for her migraines and neck pain from her occupation, Dr. McKinnon witnessed the healing effects of chiropractic and how it changed her mother’s life and well-being. After six months of care, Dr. McKinnon’s mother was pain-free and off all pain medications. This was the moment Dr. Annie realized that the power that made the body heals the body.
Dr. McKinnon, along with her family members, understands the importance of regular chiropractic care and they have made it a part of their healthy lifestyles. They believe chiropractic care is responsible for their improved quality of life. As an athlete and outdoor enthusiast, Dr. McKinnon has found chiropractic care both beneficial and essential in keeping her healthy and active.
Her appreciation for the outdoors and new adventures brought her to Alaska. Dr. McKinnon enjoys hiking, biking, disc golf, and fishing when she is away from work!
When asked why she became a chiropractor, Dr. McKinnon explains that, “It was instilled within me a strong desire to help others and I always knew that I wanted to find a profession in the area of healthcare. I chose Chiropractic at the suggestion of my own chiropractor, because it was a field where I could meet many wonderful people and provide them the help and spinal care they need. I feel the Chiropractic profession has enabled me to make a difference and help people live a pain-free active life.”
Dr. McKinnon’s compassionate heart has made a mark upon her style of chiropractic care.
In her practice, Dr. McKinnon treats the whole person through not only chiropractic adjustments, but spinal rehabilitation, nutrition, and lifestyle changes to bring the patient into optimal balance.
